Our client an MGA/Wholesale firm in New Jersey seeks a Branch Manager to run the P&C non admitted division.
Branch Manager

Responsible to: Regional Branch Manager

Basic Functions:

1. Clients
a. Work with agents to develop their business across all platforms of our client.
b. Direct involvement with producers.
2. Personnel
a. Manage and motivate staff in the branch.
b. Develop and mentor staff.
c. Keep personnel focused on servicing of producers.
3. Carriers
a. To ensure staff are adhering to the guidelines of each carrier.
b. To promote carriers that our client is focused on.
c. Create relationships with the underwriting staff at the carriers.
d. To adhere and monitor acceptable underwriting principles so that each market receives the requested production and loss ratios that keep them viable for our use.
4. Production
a. To monitor and increase revenue on a monthly basis.
b. Develop, implement and monitor budgets and underwriting & marketing plans.
c. Monitor reports for personnel, agents and carriers to ensure success for each.
d. Produce accounts as needed.

Detailed
Responsibilities:

1. Clients
a. Coordinate special deals with brokers with production and accounting. i.e. Incentive plans.
b. Monitor producer representation to determine if problems arise that would create needs for adjustment recommendations. This would include new producer reviews.
2. Personnel
a. Manage and train personnel to perform marketing/production/underwriting functions.
b. Perform evaluations of staff annually with quarterly reviews.
c. Monitor employee budgets and goals.
d. Ensure staff is following general guidelines outlined in the handbook.
e. Staff the office as needed.
f. Set the example.

3. Carriers
a. Check and audit policies as needed to improve branch results.
b. Monitor carrier results to ensure we are working towards our annual goals.
c. Develop relationship with you and your staff and underwriters at carriers.

4. Production
a. Locate and evaluate potential revenue producing programs/classes/procedures etc. Working in cooperation with Regional Branch Managers and Corporate.
b. Assist underwriters in placement of their accounts and help them with workflow.
c. Check and audit policies as needed to improve branch results.
d. Handle the appropriate accounts on a timely basis.

5. Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by Management.

Standards:

1. Clients
a. Producer incentive plans should be in writing to corporate staff and monitored on a monthly basis.
b. Increased revenue and diversification of business within each agency.
2. Personnel
a. Individual goals should be being met.
b. Individuals not meeting goals should be handled in a timely fashion.
c. Monitor employee's licensing to ensure all are current.
3. Carriers
a. Support carriers outline by Corporate.
4. Production
a. Quotes or Responses should be completed within 24 hour period.
b. Binders should be completed and off desk within 48 hours. Preferably 24 hours.
c. Accounts which involve other branch offices should be handles with 24 hours.
d. Suspenses should be done daily and kept up to date.
e. Phone calls should always be handles in a courteous and helpful manner. All voice mails should be returned IMMEDIATELY.
f. All processing of paperwork should be completed within one week of its arrival.
g. Renewals should be released no later than 30 day prior to renewal.
h. Deadlines and schedules should be followed to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications:

a. Possess the communication and sales skills necessary for interacting with potential and existing clients.
b. Hold a current property/casualty license.
c. Have good written and oral communications skills to interact with potential and existing clients, staff, as well as other departments.
d. Possess strong technical insurance and computer skills.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
