Cloud Support and Operations Director- Long-term Contract - Hybrid

For our direct client in Northern NJ we seek a dynamic, driven Cloud Support and Operations Director to lead the cloud support team.
This role is perfect for a pro-active, hands-on leader with a proven track record of managing Azure and AWS cloud environments supporting large custom applications deployed globally.
The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a collaborative spirit to drive operational excellence and support innovation across our client's organization.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
Manage a large support managed service contract with 100
onshore/offshore resources, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Develop and mentor the team, supporting career growth and skill development.
Cloud Environment Management:
Oversee the operation and support of our cloud environments, primarily Azure with some AWS, ensuring high availability, performance, and security of enterprise applications.
Strategic Collaboration:
Work closely with development, infrastructure, security, and business teams to ensure seamless operation and support of applications.
Drive cross-departmental initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of support services.
-Run and support Regional Azure Regional and we assist overseas subsidiaries in running theirs when they have issues.
Developing a support and cost-recovery model to provide this necessary support.
Problem Solving:
Act as the escalation point for critical support issues, leading problem resolution efforts and ensuring timely and effective communication with stakeholders.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify and implement improvements in processes, tools, and technologies to enhance operational efficiency and support capabilities.
Compliance and Best Practices:
Ensure adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements.
Champion best practices in cloud management and support.
Experience Desired:
15
years experience with minimum last 5 years in a leadership role.
Significant hands-on experience in managing cloud environments, specifically Azure, with some AWS exposure.
Experience leading internal and managed-service support teams.
Proven record of running Support and Operations for a large enterprise suite of products deployed globally.
Certifications:
Azure certifications highly regarded; AWS certifications are a plus.
Skills:
Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional teams and initiatives.
Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of operational excellence in supporting large-scale applications.
Ambition:
Demonstrated history of ambition and self-driven success in cloud operations and support.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
